About

By day i'm the photo editor of a tween magazine. By night i'm a one person crafting factory set up in the living room of my one bedroom apartment.

My love of crafts started when I was just a little girl. My mom had this craft closet with a little of everything in it. I started making doll clothes and creatures out of pennies and fake fur. I would hold craft fairs at my kitchen table and make my family come and buy things. Who would have known that I would be doing the same thing 25 years later but on a larger scale.

Collisionware officially launched in 2005 but has slowly evolved into what it is today. I've experimented with leather, fabrics and everything under the sun before I felt like I had something concrete. I started with making only leather cuffs which got a good response because they were different. I lined each one with a fun and colorful fabric that no one was expecting. It was like a surprise. Then I decided to branch out and add vinyl wallets into the mix. I loved the surprise factor so I lined each wallet with a different fabric too. Customers would open each one and get excited because they never knew what they were going to find. That still wasn't enough for me though. I wanted to see some of these fabrics out in the open. I didn't want to hide it all on the inside. From there, oven mitts and aprons were born. Bold, crazy fabrics to be seen by all.

So it may have all started in my mom's craft closet 25 years ago or maybe it was the sound of fabric being rolled out on the table, the soothing sound of the sewing machine or something I was just born with. Regardless of how it all began, I love what I do and that's why I do it. It's my passion and that feels good to say.

Collisionware. You never know what's on the inside.
